Description

In this 2nd edition bundle of Using Language Well, students review grammar concepts while also being introduced to adjectives; antecedents; articles; common nouns; helping and linking verbs; nouns; pronouns and possessive pronouns; proper nouns; complete subject and predicate; and verb tenses. Punctuation study will include colons, ellipses; hyphens; and semicolons. This level teaches fun skills like alphabetizing by last name, using a dictionary, and paraphrasing. The Teacher Book will include answers for each lesson, rubrics for evaluating student’s work, helpful teaching tips, grading rubrics, an index, and more. As an example of the selected resources, an early lesson has your student engage with a Churchill quotation, “All great things are simple, and many can be expressed in single words: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.” By the end of this course, students will learn from a 6-sentence paragraph taken from Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. A placement test is available for further guidance. Additional Teacher Books and consumable student books are sold separately. Directions are in the student book; answers and teaching aids are in the teacher book.  ~ Ruth
