Rainbow Resource Center's homeschool Christian Starter Packages blend Christian and religiously neutral curriculum. The following materials are included for each subject:
Language Arts: A strong ELA foundation is built with Horizons Phonics and Reading in Grades K-2. For Grades 3-8, packages include literature-based language arts with Learning Language Arts through Literature. Spelling is included with MCP Spelling Workout or Building Spelling Skills in Grades 1-6. Simple, effective handwriting workbooks are included for systematic instruction in Grades 1-2. In 9th grade, literature and writing from Sharon Watson provide conversational, Biblical-centered instruction.
Math: We've included Math with Confidence for Grades K-3 and Saxon Math in Grades 4 and up. Math With Confidence provides open-and-go scripted lessons, a mastery approach to topics with spiral review. Saxon Math has been a homeschooler favorite for many years, with its incremental approach and built-in review and repetition. Suggested math manipulatives are included for Grades K-3.
Science: Apologia Science or Master Books Science courses provide a survey of the sciences from a Young Earth perspective. Lab Kits included when available.
Master's Biology is a college preparatory program offering a full lab experience (lab supplies not included) or a simplified approach using home labs and book based microscopic labs.
History & Social Studies: In K-2, Master Books Social Studies provides a child-friendly introduction to the world around us. Grades 3-4 introduce the literature-rich Notgrass History, with Alpha Omega LIFEPACs for middle school.
