Topics are divided into areas of physical, life, and earth and space science. In physical science, students learn about matter and changes in matter; in life science they study interactions and changes in ecosystems, and four systems of the human body (immune, respiratory, circulatory, and nervous); and in earth and space they study biomes, weather, minerals, rocks, dinosaurs/fossils, and the solar system, moon and stars. The Student Text includes chapter readings, vocabulary, STEM activities, quick check questions, meet the scientists and stem career highlights, a glossary and index. Written to students, the full course is designed for teacher-student interactions, with some independent student work.
