This set of spiral-bound course materials provides all the
lecture notes, quizzes, and student work needed for one student using this
course. Each student will need one text. Use this text alongside the required
teaching from Jonathan Rogers, PhD (available as DVD or with the digital streaming course).
Students will strengthen their grammar skills while also learning stylistic
choices such as active versus passive voice, keeping subjects close to verbs,
nominalization, and more. This preprinted option saves you the hassle of
printing over 250 pages of materials. ~ Ruth
The Grammar for Writers
program asserts that grammar is communication and we use grammar to analyze our
meaning. This program believes strengthening and focusing on grammar will improve
students’ sentences and help them write well for their intended audience.
The course instructor, Jonathan
Rogers, PhD (author of the Wilderking
Trilogy and The
World According to Narnia), guides students systematically through
identifying grammar concepts, finding errors, and implementing corrections. Students
will learn about and apply traditional grammar concepts, but also apply aspects
such as clause patterns, active/passive voice, non-essential elements, and
more. The course is available in two formats. The mandatory 41 short video
lectures, with PDF notes and quizzes, are available via streaming; access lasts
for one year from time of activation. The two main course components include
teaching digital videos (available to stream on multiple platforms) and PDF
lecture notes and quizzes for each lesson. The streaming/PDF access is a
12-month license. While these materials can be used for multiple students in
one family, classroom licenses are available directly from Classical Academic
Press. For an Internet-free option, select one of the preprinted course materials per
student and the still-available DVD Instruction instead.
