Chemistry for the Grammar Stage from Elemental Science is a 36-week study of atoms, the periodic table, reactions, and more through visually appealing encyclopedias, hands-on demonstrations and activities, and notebooking. The course is organized well and easy to use for parents and kids alike. Topically students begin the year studying atoms and molecules and the periodic table, before moving into physical and chemical changes, mixtures, acids and bases, and organic chemistry. There are two scientist biography reports recommended: Pasteur’s Fight Against Microbes in the Mixtures Unit and Marie Curie’s Search for Radium in the Acids and Bases Unit. Please note: Pasteur’s Fight Against Microbes is currently out of print. It may be available through your local library, or a suitable substitute may be used. The course requires the Chemistry for the Grammar Stage Teacher Guide, the spine resources, and student materials. We also offer a printed Chemistry the Grammar Stage Student Workbook. If you prefer lapbooking, a PDF of Lapbook Templates is available from the publisher.
