Overall, your workbook for American Lit. is very useful (helpful text-analysis questions, writing exercises, etc.). But your specifically "Christian mission" in framing the questions was a dismaying surprise. Your website does not make this "mission" clear. I was embarrassed to come across the pointed questions & references while tutoring a Jewish student. I assured his parents that I was *not* trying to proselytize their son, that the "editorial" bias of the workbook was as much a surprise to me as it was an uncomfortable one for them. Please be more direct in the description of your materials.

Nice book, lots of classics.
The book is thorough ! It covers many classics. That’s the good news. The bad news is you need a second book that contains the stores for the literary responses. Good price!

Very satisfied with this. You need to purchase the extra reading materials as well with this. I found this to be appropriate 10th grade curriculum along with additional material as well for our language arts home school class.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed using this program during his Freshman year Worried about not having expertise in the subject? Relax and rely on Greg Strayer's expertise! An excellent thorough yet easy-to-follow curriculum -- you can do it! And even enjoy it! My son & I enjoyed an interactive approach; reading the literature together and discussing the questions together also But you can use it in any manner you wish (There are suggested answers throughout -- so you are not on your own at all) We definitely plan to use the British Literature gold book as well

My son is dyslexic and I am always concerned about which reading programs we choose Although this is a good literature program some of the reading is a little difficult for those who struggle with reading I found myself having to "help" more with the reading However this is a good literature study It encourages thinking and understanding instead of memorizing literary terms I would recommend for 10th grade and up

A very in-depth tour through the literature used Literary terms are covered and reviewed throughout the year Questions require thinking not just repeating what was read A very good course easily used with little teacher help I would recommend waiting and using this at the upper high school grades rather than freshman year (like I did) Some days took a full hour or more with the reading selection and questions I am planning on using the British Lit course in a year or two

For the cost, this looks like a really comprehensive list of books my 9th grader needs to read this year.

I chose this curriculum because it includes reading novels as well as poetry and short stories. Also, it's more economical than some other literature programs. There are many good reviews online that helped me make this decision. I heard one on youtube by a Mom who was teaching her dyslexic son and, since my son is autistic, I was encouraged that this would work for our family.

LLATL... thorough language arts courses, enough variety to not be boring, yet not overwhelming either- and economical too

Anything to make Literature easier.

My home school program recommended it.

This book has just the right mix of novels, short stories, and poetry. It highly compares to other American literature textbooks but doesn't have so much that you wouldn't have time to complete it all.

An all in one language arts curriculum that includes poetry, novel, and short studies. It looks to be a great streamlined approach.

This will provide extra support to the literature books that we will read in the Notgrass American History program.
