Living Streams American History -New World Wonders

Description

Looking for an engaging history curriculum to do as a family? The Living Streams American History: New World Wonders for grades 1-8, brings history to life with immersive storytelling and multi-sensory activities! Use the Textbook and Activity Guide together for a full curriculum that will last you all year! Students will also need a Timeline, a blank, unlined journal for notebooking exercises, and colored pencils.

The Textbook is written from a Christian worldview and is truly a work of art – with gilded pages and gorgeous pictures of historic paintings throughout. Every chapter takes between 10 and 30 minutes to read (depending on length) and includes a narration prompt and a timeline entry. Narration is a key element of this Charlotte Mason curriculum, allowing students to practice discussing and explaining their thoughts. It solidifies learning, increases retention, and teaches the brain to make a habit of listening carefully. The Timeline activity is also essential, helping students visualize the flow of history and make connections between people, places, and events.

After reading from the Text, solidify and reinforce learning with 2-3 creative activities from the Activity Guide. These include crafts, games, recipes, and projects as well as writing, mapwork, and notebooking exercises (QR code for free video tutorials and printable maps and resources). What a fun way to “experience” history!

This curriculum makes history meaningful and memorable. Dry textbooks are… OUT! “Living” history books are… IN!
