The Curious Historian Level 1 is the first part in a 3-level series that presents the study of history and culture from the beginnings of civilization (Mesopotamia and Egypt) through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Students will grow excited about history, see how people throughout the ages were both similar to and different from themselves, and learn to be scholars of the past who can make a difference in the future.

The Curious Historian Level 1A: The Early & Middle Bronze Ages includes weekly chapter lessons that present a chronological narrative of history. Accompanying sidebars feature historical and archaeological tidbits, discussion questions, and Greek/Latin root words for key vocabulary. A wealth of exercises, hands-on projects and activities, maps, and appendices help to present the study of history in an engaging, creative manner. The Curious Historian Level 1A (TCH1A) will introduce students to:

The Curious Historian is a chronological world history program from Classical Academic Press that strives to foster virtue and wisdom in students while guiding them to understand the world we live in. Each year of the 3-level series includes two semester-long text­books. Books 1A through 3A are available now; with Level 3B to follow.

The Student Edition includes weekly chapter lessons, the text, and sidebars packed with fascinating historical and architectural tidbits. There are also discussion questions, exercises, hands-on projects, maps and activities, plus really nice Greek/Latin root word studies (their specialty). The Teacher Edition has a full student text plus detailed teacher notes & tips, answers, and sample responses. Digital Resources include songs, suggested reading lists, printable files including full-color timelines, reference charts, and blank maps, and Biblical Connections.

While The Curious Historian is presented in a more standard for­mat than other elementary programs such as The Story of the World, it implements many nice features and focuses on aspects of culture that may not be covered in other curricula.

Level 1 covers the Ancient World (3200- 1600BC). Level 2 covers the Classical World (1600-500BC). Level 3 covers up through the Middle Ages.
