Grade 4 (Purposeful Design 3rd Ed)

Description

The new third edition Purposeful Design Science still maintains an inquiry-based, hands-on approach as students examine the wonders of God’s creation through a biblical worldview. Learning is based on scientific inquiry investigations and engineering design process activities. Multi-tiered questions develop higher order scientific thinking.

What’s new about this edition? Research based instruction makes it more comprehensive and promotes college readiness. The new biblical worldview questions build on the questions from Grades 1-3. There are also ideas for instructional differences on various skill levels. Each lesson points out the alignment to National Science Education Standards and Next Generation Science Standards. Every chapter now includes performance-based assessments and short unit overview videos.

Components include Teacher Guide, Student Text, and Science Workbook. The Teacher Guide is the heart of the program with detailed lesson plans, reduced student text and workbook pages with answers, downloadable teacher resources (including tests), and more. Each chapter in the full-color, hardback Student Text begins with the “key ideas” and focused vocabulary words followed by the lessons. Chapters also include content and worldview objectives, strange but true facts, and career connections. Chapters include about eight lessons. The consumable, full-color Student Workbook has about two activity pages to go along with each lesson (including investigations and experiments). The last activity for every chapter in the workbook ends with vocabulary review and a study guide to complete. ~ Gina
