Description
A brand-new elementary title in Apologia's Young Explorers Series, Exploring Creation with Earth Scienceis the much-awaited science course that takes young scientists on an adventure on our home planet.

From the clouds in the sky tothe dirt on the ground, science will no longer be a course of facts that get memorized, but rather it willbecome a means to discovering their world and their home. With multiple hands-on activities that bring science concepts to life, students engage with their world andlearn how incredible our God truly is! 14 lessons guide students in their journey from macroscopicconcepts like the atmosphere to the microscopic models where they learn how our atmosphere wasdesigned to keep itself clean.
They will dig in deep in their studies of the geosphere and dive right into lessons on the hydrosphere. Andall the while, they will be learning how loved they are by a God who created everything to work together tomake life possible.
Embark on a journey into this wonderful planet that we call home. From the galaxies above to the depths of the seas, children will learn more about the world around them and the awesome God who created it! Filled with hands-on activities, this course offers fourteen modules teaching children about our observable universe, the atmosphere, hydrosphere, climate and weather, life cycle, and so much more. One of the simpler activities that I absolutely love in this course is how children are shown what a frame of reference is, and how it appears that they are always in the center, even if they truly are not. What a life lesson for all of us! Other activities include expanding universe thinking putty and creating a globe to map throughout their study. An excellent addition to the elementary line-up, providing homeschool families more options in their pursuit of a God-centered study of science. Hardcover.

In case you are wondering about the updates to the 2nd edition, the text contains updated graphics, clarification for many of the hands-on activities, and the addition of Creation Confirmation sections that show students the connection between scientific facts and our understanding of Creation and our Creator. Otherwise, the table of contents and topics are essentially the same. As far as the activities are concerned, there are additional activities that are built upon the previous activities; other activities are similar or slightly modified. The 1st Edition Exploring Creation with Earth Science Lab Kit from Nature’s Workshop Plus is compatible with the 2nd Edition. New activity videos are available at the Apologia website for an additional fee. The publisher states the 1st edition and 2nd edition courses are not compatible.
