Moving from identifying letters and their sounds to putting them together into words is what Level 2: Words I Can Build from Simply Charlotte Mason does for your budding reader! Still following the short, 10-miute lessons centered on games and activities students start to unlock the ability to build and read words. Inside your box you receive the Games and Activities Book (teacher’s guide), the student Words I Can Build workbook, perforated letter tiles, a cut-apart letter sheet, colorful dot stickers, and 6 decks of fun flash cards. Level 2 works on word endings (at, ng), some beginning and ending blends (bl, ck), R-controlled words, and vowel combinations (ai, ou).
The Games and Activities Book contain all the activity guidance, teacher notes/guidance, words of encouragement. A Master List of needed materials is found in the beginning. Each activity bolds the materials needed for that activity. Students will be working in their Words I Can Build workbook from the very first activity. Students will draw pictures and mom or dad will write the sentences/words. All 90+ games and activities are laid out and scripted (when necessary) for you in the Games and Activities Book. Notes in the margins will provide reminders, suggestions, and encouragement.
Organized and stored in the Reading Kit box are 6-decks of flash cards. Each deck has its own distinguishable classic artwork on one side for easy sorting—and words on the flip side to study and use for games.
