Newly revised, Writing with Ease
Level 1 is the same great all-in-one, open-and-go writing program… made even
better! For ultimate flexibility, an optional 5th-day creative writing lesson
has been added to each of the 36 weeks (previously only 4 days/week), allowing
developmentally ready students to practice their skills in a new, creative way.
Parents can decide if the extra 5th day of practice is beneficial for their
child or not. One other minor change… the previous reading selection for week
34 from Beverly Cleary’s Socks has been replaced with a new one from The
Secret Garden. I love this wonderful writing program that’s completely
self-contained! All teacher instruction, source materials, and consumable
student pages are included in this book. Reproducible within a family, but if
teaching multiple students, extra sets of the revised, consumable pages are
available in a separate workbook
with perforated pages, allowing each student to have their own book. (Item
034436). 388 pgs, pb. ~Nancie
Publisher's Description of Writing with Ease Complete Level One (Revised Edition)
Using passages and sentences from classic children’s literature, Writing With Ease Complete Level 1, Revised Edition allows
young writers to practice their skills while absorbing the style and
grace of great authors. Charming illustrations by Jeff West add a visual
element that will spark your child’s imagination.
The Complete Writer: Writing With Ease provides easy-to-use materials for
teaching young students how to form thoughts and develop written communication.
Considered a companion to the Well-Trained
Mind’s First Language Lessons, it also would work alongside other
grammar-based language arts programs. At the heart of the program is the
one-on-one instruction. From copywork and dictation (putting words on paper) to
narration (verbalizing ideas), students ultimately combine these skills in Year
3 and the optional Year 4. There are two options for teaching the course:
Option 2:CompleteWorkbooks for Levels 1-3 (with teaching information and reproducible
student pages)
The Text meets the need of families who prefer
to create individualized daily lessons following the model given. It provides a
program overview of all levels with a week of detailed lesson plans followed by
a general scope and sequence for the remainder of each level.
