This 25th Anniversary Expanded Edition of Story of the
World Ancient Times provides a multi-age curriculum for 35-36 weeks of
studying ancient history (9000 BC/BCE to 476 AD/CE). In this edition, each future
volume of the series will include the following components: a Student Reader, a
Student Workbook, Instructor Guide, and a Tests and Answer Key. This Student Reader
(available in hard or soft cover) retains a large percentage of the previous
edition’s content. Chapters, however, are rearranged to closely follow a
chronological timeline. Readability has been increased through slight wording
and paragraph size changes. Families will enjoy the newly added 10 mini
biographies, including an Assyrian warrior queen, Draco and Solon, Zhang Qian
(of the Silk Road), Judas Maccabee, and more. The curriculum still explains the
start of each major world religion (content is nearly identical to the previous
edition). This edition is still written with a neutral perspective, including
the key details. See individual product descriptions for specific content
details. To help students with further study, the author recommends adding a
history encyclopedia of your choice. The extremely user-friendly
Instructor Guide
provides over 70 new activities (including cross-curricular, group, and
kinesthetic), with an updated additional reading list, field trip ideas, and
more. The Student
Workbook is now a separate consumable. The Tests and Answer Key
provide an additional resource for checking student’s retention of concepts.
Convenience packages of the full curriculum are available using either
softcover or hardcover main reader texts. ~ Ruth
