Optional Math-U-See Pre-Algebra DVD contains the same instructional lessons as the Pre-Algebra Online Instruction with Videos
Not included in the Sets but may be purchased separately
Families who choose to purchase the DVD instead of the Online Instruction with Video will need the Integer Block Set, Algebra Decimal Insert Kit, Pre-Algebra Student Workbook and Tests, and the Pre-Algebra Instruction Manual
The Math-U-See Pre-Algebra DVD is an optional purchase for
families who prefer to use DVD instruction rather than online instruction. It
includes an introduction to the Math-U-See methodology and Mr. Demme’s clearly
presented instructional lessons. Each teaching segment averages 8-10 minutes in
length and focuses on Mr. Demme, who explains and demonstrates each concept on
a large whiteboard using magnetic manipulatives and drawings. The instructional content of the DVD is the
same instruction that is included with the Math-U-See Pre-Algebra Online
Instruction Videos.

The Math-U-See Pre-Algebra DVDs are ideal for instructors who already own the Instruction Manual, Integer Block Kit, and Algebra/Decimal Insert Kit and whose students have all the necessary student materials, including the Student Workbook and Tests booklet.
Basic pre-algebra concepts including negative numbers, exponents, factoring, and ratios. Includes rules of solving equations using the associative, commutative, and other properties; simple operations with polynomials. Also covers geometry concepts of surface area, volume and Pythagorean theorem.
Lessons follow a similar format – watch the
DVD lesson, work through lesson examples in the instruction manual together,
and complete worksheets. Lessons conclude with a test. Cumulative unit tests
are scheduled regularly to assure students retain previous teaching. A final test
over all concepts taught concludes the course.
