Jolly Literacy Spelling, Grammar, & Punctuation Student Book 6 has a new name and a new cover but contains the same content as Jolly Grammar 6. Topics covered include prefixes/suffixes, alternative spellings, new spelling patterns, silent letters, schwas, definite/indefinite articles, countable/uncountable nouns, semicolons/colons, sentence structure, literary devices, and formal/informal writing. The student book provides weekly spelling and grammar worksheets that feature a variety of activities. Students revisit previously taught concepts frequently. Lessons are completed twice a week, with the first lesson focusing on spelling and the second on grammar. Punctuation and vocabulary development are interweaved into both lessons. The Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation Student Book 6 (in print
letters) is the seventh year of the Jolly Phonics and Grammar program.
Designed to follow on from the Jolly Phonics Student Books 1, 2 and 3,
the Grammar Student Books build on the skills taught in Jolly Phonics,
and introduce grammar, spelling and punctuation rules to improve writing
and reading comprehension.
Children are able to work through the Grammar 6 Student Book and
complete a wide variety of engaging activities, which develop grammar,
spelling, punctuation and comprehension skills.
Lessons are provided for 1 grammar or punctuation topic and 1
spelling lesson per week for a year. The teacher is able to support and
guide the children with the Grammar 6 Teacher’s Book.

- Revision of elements covered in The Grammar 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 Student Books
- Prefixes & suffixes and in particular numerical
- New spelling patterns/rules: ough
