Description

Jolly Literacy Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation Teacher’s Book is the key element to the program. It gives an in-depth scope and sequence for Level 1, a comprehensive introduction explaining the structure of the program, and step-by-step lesson plans incorporating the student book. Lessons are done two times a week. The first lesson focuses on spelling and the second lesson on grammar & punctuation. Spelling lessons feature vowel digraphs, alternative spellings of the vowel sounds, identifying short vowels, syllables, spelling rules for consonant doubling, spelling rules for adding suffixes, consonant blends, and tricky words. Grammar lessons introduce nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and the simple past, present, and future. Optional supplementary resources include Grammar Glossary, Jolly Dictionary, Jolly Phonics Blend Wheel, Jolly Phonics Readers Blue and Purple Levels, and Jolly Phonics Handwriting Books.  ~ Gina

The Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation Student Book 1 (in print letters) is the second year of the Jolly Phonics and Grammar program. Designed to follow on from the Jolly Phonics Student Books 1, 2 and 3, the Grammar Student Books build on the skills taught in Jolly Phonics, and introduce grammar, spelling and punctuation rules to improve writing and reading comprehension.

Children are able to work through the Grammar 1 Student book and complete a wide variety of engaging activities, which develop grammar, spelling, punctuation and comprehension skills.

Lessons are provided for 1 Grammar or punctuation and 1 Spelling lesson per week for a year. The teacher is able to support and guide the children with the Grammar 1 Teacher’s Book.
