After students review print letters, cursive letters are introduced in developmental order, keeping the cursive formations and connections in mind. For example, the first group of lowercase cursive letters starts with c, a, d, g, and h. As students learn a new letter, they will immediately learn how to connect it to others in words. After every few lessons, students are given pages to review recently learned letters. Students will practice writing by copying intentionally chosen passages while learning interesting facts along the way (US states, unique names, landmarks, and more). Students will need the Blackboard with Double Lines, Ready for Cursive Poster Set, and Little Chalk Bits. Teacher Guides are needed to teach students using this unique methodology. Consumable, landscape format, 102 pgs, sc. ~ Ruth

Students start by reviewing print letters in developmental order for the first 29 pages, then move to learning cursive lowercase letters. The goal of this cursive methodology is to teach form and not style. Therefore, letters are not written in slanted form. The order that cursive letters are taught is also different—a developmental progression. After every few letters that students learn and practice, they are given “Pause and Practice” pages to review letter creation. The double-lines for writing are ½ inch wide; however, this edition also provides opportunities to practice on other line types. Students will practice writing about various subjects: geography, months and dates, poems, and more. The Teacher Guide and consumable student book are sold individually, in student and teacher packages, or in packages with manipulatives. This program is great for left-handed students, students who struggle with handwriting, or students who want a streamlined approach to handwriting script. Students will need the manipulatives Ready for Cursive Poster Set, the Blackboard with Double Lines, and chalk bits with little sponge cubes. Packages are available. Note: Digital tools such as the IDTT (Interactive Digital Teaching Tool) are available for traditional classrooms only and are truly unnecessary in a small classroom/homeschool setting (for example, a giant smart-board projection of the letter K). References to these digital tools are clearly identified with a laptop/tablet icon.
