Cursive
I like that you can have them practice both types of writing, and that the kids can just open and do it without me. Handwriting has improved with using cursive.

Great transition
My son has been asking to learn cursive and this workbook is a great place to start. There are enough lessons to take up a whole year, but we are only using the cursive part and it is working for us as we are also using level B for printing practice.

love it
I am very pleased with this workbook. Its a short amount each day so my kids don't get overwhelmed. I love how they can write the entire memory verse and color the outside edges is the design in the page so to make a gift for someone.

Easy Cursive Transition
Son wanted to learn cursive and I like the traditional look of the cursive A reason for Handwriting had. It's a gentle approach- first reviewing all the print letters, then introducing the cursive letters. My son likes it!

Not just for little ones I'm having my 3rd 4th 5th & 6th graders all do the T book this year As a former school teacher I was upset when handwriting was cut from the curriculum :( We just began homeschooling this year and my kids have never had much instruction on proper formations I like how the T book reviews manuscript AND introduces cursive with plenty of practice for both The daily segments take maybe 15 minutes and they like sending the final pretty verse page to relatives/friends on Friday I LOVE these books Highly recommend

We used the Transition book with our daughter last year in the second grade and have been with this program for two years It is a wonderful handwriting program for so many reasons Our children love finishing the week with a completed Bible verse on a coloring page they get to decorate They try harder to write well because they know we will display their work The book also encourages them to give these pages with Bible verses to family and friends (Yeah!) The transition to cursive in this book was great Their writing is much improved since starting this program and it is very easy to teach

I am currently using this with my 3rd grader We completely skipped the first section of the book where they review print I love the Bible verses etc I never use the Teachers Manual I originally chose this cursive program because I liked the fact that they include the print letter so that the child can learn the matching cursive letters

I've used this cursive program with 4 children and we have loved it. I'm ordering it for my 5th child, and can't wait to see her excited about sharing her finished products each week with family and friends.

This was a great book for my older son. We took it slow and used it over a few years' time. So I bought it for my younger son. The layout of the pages, the bright colors, the ease of instruction, are great for the kids.

I love this handwriting program! I've used it successfully with 4 children and look forward to using it with my 2 youngest. Short, doable daily lessons and beautiful weekly 'pretty paper' to write out and color verse of the week.

Brenda U on Oct 26, 2017
My daughter needs extra practice in handwriting. A Reason for Handwriting is an excellent source for teaching handwriting!
Milca R on Oct 20, 2017
My students did well with the K and A level books in this series and now it is time for cursive. We prefer the look of the cursive and the layout of these lessons. However, I do not like the minimal instruction on letter formation, so we will be supplementing with the first cursive Handwriting Without Tears workbook to get them started with less frustration. My son needs the extra print work in this T book. My daughter will move straight to the C book when she completes level A.
Nora L on Oct 19, 2017
Son was entering 3rd grade at a school that used cursive. He had not been taught cursive before. I have used A Reason For products in the past, so I knew that this would be a good fit for the job.

I've used the Reason for Handwriting series over the past 15 years for all 4 of my children. I love the way it gently leads them towards handwriting mastery, with focus on God's Word and a beautiful piece of artwork to share with others at the conclusion of each lesson.

Trying this for the first time this year due to reviews! I hope we enjoy it.
Lynn P on Aug 19, 2017
If your child is not quite ready to go from printing to cursive, this is a nice slow transition. We do the printing section first and then the cursive. I like that these handwriting books are not by grade levels, but allow you to choose what you need, when you need it. Thanks for offering this resource, RR!

These books have been a wonderful resource in improving my children's handwriting. I love that they are filling their minds with Scripture while practicing an important skill.
Krista D on Jun 6, 2017
My eldest children know how to write, but need practice to maintain good form. The Transition book provides practice in both manuscript and cursive, and also offers an opportunity for service by encouraging the student to write out the verse on decorative paper and giving it as an encouragement to another.

Do you need to buy the teacher guide?

BEST ANSWER: I have used "A Reason for Handwriting" for all 5 of my children and have never bought the teacher guide. I have been very satisfied with the results of just using the student worktext.
