Hands down, the best in every way!
After ten years of homechooling, we found our favorite grammar program on the market. Short, fun, easy to teach lessons that are extremely rich in content. Concepts are mastered through repetition without becoming boring. And the best part is, this grammar program has unlocked the secret of creating better writers through grammar. This actually transfers and I see them applying what they have learned!

We are currently using the first FixIt! Grammar curriculum and are really liking it. My daughter is homeschooling 7th grade so we are taking it at a pretty fast pace. She will be done with the first book mid school year and then will begin the second book. Thanks!

Love, Love, Love this way of teaching Grammar
Danise S on Aug 31, 2018
I have the teacher's manual lying around and figured why not try this this year! So much easier to buy the book bound than print and bind it myself. Looking forward to this approach this year and am hopeful my son will get more out of grammar when he's applying it to literature that he's reading.

It is a gentle way to learn grammar that my kids enjoy. It is repetitive, so they learn it well.

I've used the first book and we loved it so I'm ready for the next one!

I love the IEW courses. I used Book 1: The Nose Tree, last year and am buying the next one this year for Grammar. My sons blew me away with how correctly he could identify the parts of speech in a sentence by the end of the year. It was also fun to read the entire story, which he had been writing little by little all year, on the last day of school.

Each student needs their own workbook.

we just started using this curriculum for our grammar and we love it. We finished the first book in the first half of the school year and are buying the second one for the remainder of the year.

Grammar in small bites. Love that it teaches to identify clauses in sentences - to see sentences as being made up of parts. My dyslexic son struggles with this and Fix-It is helping him to see the structure. He has grown much in these two years using this resource.

This is a great grammar choice and it goes along nicely with the IEW writing program.

We love Fix It Grammer! Haven't found a curriculum that teaches grammer and sentence structure as well as this, and both kids like it. We doTotal Language Plus for reading comprehension and writing.

This program was recommended to me by a friend, and worked wonderfully for our 8th grader as a way to practice his grammar skills in an interesting story-type format.

Love Fix it grammar book one and wish to continue

I love fix it grammar! It encompasses all that I wanted to provide my child in one lesson. Grammar, parts of speech, copy work, vocabulary, and comprehension. I do modify for my family because of time and ability level, so we built up to doing one week's worth of work to once a week for one of my children. My other child does two lessons in one day and another two later in the week. You can modify the tempo depending on the child.

Love the IEW program... these Fix It! books allow students to work on applying editing and grammar alongside their current IEW writing program. These are a great supplement to our current program.

I have a 4th Grader and a 5th grader. do I need book 1 or can I start with book 2?
A shopper on Sep 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The publishers recommend starting with book 1 no matter the age and I agree. My son is in 7th and we are in book 3 (he started at book 1 in 5th) and I am glad we started with Book 1. They build on each other, so they make more sense and are more helpful if you start with one. And my son isn't behind in grammar for starting Book 1 in 5th. We love the program.
Has anyone had success using this with a child who doesn't like to read or write? My son hates both after 5 years of public school...we are new to homeschooling! Thanks!
User on Oct 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I love this series, but have only used it with kids who enjoy school. It is strictly grammar, not reading or writing per se. One of my key selling points when my kids have a bad attitude is that it's designed to be fast. I ask for five good minutes and we're done for the day. My kids have learned more than with any other grammar program we've tried. But truthfully, I'd first focus on getting my kids to LOVE reading. Fill their days with really good books, read aloud, talk about books. Then add copywork. Add narration. Add writing. Add grammar. Etc. But don't be afraid to take it slow and discover a passion for learning!
