Product Description:

Keyboarding is now a critical skill that should be taught correctly from the start. When children are not given directed instructions on keyboarding, they will begin to develop their own techniques which generally limit accuracy and speed. Dr. Fry's Computer Keyboarding for Beginners is designed to teach your child to keyboard using the correct method. By the end of the 20 lessons, your child will know the location of the letters and symbols on the keyboard (and which fingers are used to strike which keys) and be able to accurately use the 10 finger touch type method. My son is interested in computer coding, so I thought a good 1st step was learning some basic keyboarding.

I used this curriculum two summers ago and really liked it! It works well with my 3rd & 5th graders at that time.

Great price! I read good reviews elsewhere. Amazon's was more expensive.

HOW IS TYPING TAUGHT? IS A DISC USED
A shopper on Sep 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, a disc is not used. There are individual written lessons with finger placements and introductions to new points and then exercises to apply those lessons. It's very similar to how we were taught on typewriters in school years ago. (ASDF JKL; etc...) I have used it with my 5th and 7th grader with great success. It reiterates the proper hand placement for correct and speedy typing skills and It lets students progress at their own speed. Great book for the price!
