The colorful Student Guide assists students to “Learn by doing®." Containing 14 chapters, the first 3 cover basic electricity before moving onto the practical application of electronics. Topics include basic components and circuits, motors and electricity, resistance, capacitors, transistors, oscillators and electronic sound, integrated circuits, electromagnetism & radio, diodes, electronic switches, electromagnetism, sun power, and more. The chapters are written to the student and teach in a way that is understandable to most middle school students. Aligning with the Learn by doing® philosophy, hands-on activities are integral to understanding the topics. Most activities are the same as those found in the instruction booklets, although there are a few new ones. Chapters conclude with a summary, practice test (with answers) and often a problem-solving activity. 138 pgs.
