This is a great price for a full curriculum study. I have used other books and needed to look for complementary art cards and suppletory reading material...but, this is truly a well complied study, God centered, complete art set! I'm excited to receive our new books! As I'm sure my friend is waiting for her set back ;-)

I have been using this curriculum for years. It is easy to read, has lots of great information, and beautiful artwork. It provides basic art instruction, that the student can complete on his/her own. An added benefit is that there is no inappropriate art that I needs to filtered.

My son, entering 9th grade, is required to have 2 years of Language Arts. He doesn't want to learn a foreign language or an instrument; so, art is his only choice. This package is from God's point of view and covers all eras; and, with the package set up for four years, we'll be able to pick which eras seems more interesting to complete the 2 year requirement.

My Father's World uses it, and I didn't originally get the Deluxe curriculum package, which includes this, but it looks good in the lesson plans, so I decided to try it.

BEST ANSWER: You don't need the teacher's manual. If you look at the deluxe kit, you will see everything that you'll need. We don't do the lessons in order, we choose one based on interest for that day. So far we have used colored pencils, a nice drawing pen and a set of drawing pencils.

Homage to the Great Artists and Glory to the Creator
Great collection of activities compiled in these two books. I have spent hours attempting to put together a lessons for just one artist, but this book has done all the work for me! There's enough information here for each piece of art anything else I can add is just extra. LOVE IT !

I like the order of the lessons as they progress from easy to building on what you've learned. The book has some typos but nothing major. The cardstock paint cards are a little crooked but still usable. I like the postcard artwork. The book is strongly supportive of God's view on creation and to not consider yourself as a failure as an artist. I would give it a five star if it wasn't for the typos and crooked printing on the cardstock.
