Of all of the books my 10 year-old 6 year-old and I have read this year in our study of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome this has absolutely been one of our favorites! The contributions this brilliant man made to our world have been fascinating to learn about My 10 year-old daughter reads aloud one chapter a day for the entire family that details at least one of Archimedes' scientific discoveries and in almost every chapter there is a simple experiment to prove the scientific principle discussed in that chapter My 10 year-old daughter is so enthusiastic she gathers all of our supplies each day before we read without me asking her to! The supplies are always simple household items;I have yet to have to buy anything special With diagrams on almost every page hands-on experiments for almost every chapter and the conversational tone the book is written in it would certainly be appropriate for many learning styles Archimedes is now a household name and a topic of discussion in our daily life Reading this book has helped our family get to know him and understand this time period in a very personal way! Thank you!
