The teacher's manual was disappointing to me It was mostly just a copy of the student manual with the answers Only the first 20 pages had some guidelines helpful information some review tests and one sample lesson plan Not nearly enough for me to know what to do! The CD is helpful to have So I had to figure out my own plan for how to teach and review the vocabulary that would work for us There are 5 new words in each lesson and an additional line of a prayer What we do is this: Monday: Listen to CD with new words and make flash cards Tuesday: Do a workbook page Wednesday: Listen to CD and go thru all flashcards Thursday: Do second workbook page Friday: Listen to CD and review all flashcards again This way he has learned the vocabulary well and it hasn't been too overwhelming on the workbook questions He was 8 when we started this and the workbook pages definitely challenged him at first

We used the Prima Latina Text Set (with student workbook teacher book & CD) when my son was in 1st grade This early primer mainly concentrates on learning vocabulary but there are some grammar concepts introduced as well I found grammar was presented simply and that it reinforced the grammar we had been studying in First Language Lessons 1 & 2 The CD made this very easy to learn My son had no trouble memorizing the vocabulary even at the 1st grade level You don't have to know Latin to use these materials and there's no teacher prep involved I'm learning Latin along with my son and enjoying it very much There are 25 lessons plus 5 review lessons We did one a week and easily finished within a single school year I made flashcards on index cards of all the vocabulary from this set; however I later learned you can buy flashcards which will be used for both Prima Latina and Christiana Latina 1-- I recommend just buying the flashcards since they will be used for 2 years I understand there is also a DVD now available for Prima Latina

My son and I really love this gentle approach to learning Latin We do about 15 minutes a day 4 days a week The CD is very helpful and we listen to it everyday for review My son doesn't feel overwhelmed with too much info and I don't feel overwhelmed with too much prep work We will definitely be continuing with this program and using other Memoria Press products!

My 2nd grader wants to learn Latin like his big sister. We used First Form Latin with his older brothers a few years ago, and his sister before that. She's now finishing Henle I.

My daughter attends a classical middle school while I homeschool the elementary grades with our other children. Prima Latina and Latina Chistiana were reccomened to me by the 6th grade Latin teacher as solid stepping stones before 6th grade Latin class.

I have used this with my older children and seen a world of difference in their English Grammar. Can't wait to start it with my younger ones.

Latin is foundational to understanding Science and Law terms. Many English words are derived from Latin.

We are just learning Latin through Classical Conversations, and I wanted some extra materials to build on the Latin learned there. This was highly recommended for my 2nd grader, and so far, it's a hit! I look forward to learning Latin along with my child!
