Perfect for Independent Work
This book is perfect for independent work. My grandson has set a goal and this book works perfectly for that journey. The writing is thorough and easily understood.

More to the point offering more general information vs. the complexity of the Exploring Creation system, to hopefully help draw in a very uninterested student.

I chose this to use as my science curriculum for my 5th grader this year.

Is this 2017 edition?
A shopper on Jun 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure the edition year, but it was a great book to use for my grandson.
Does this text have any references to the age if the Earth? Is it friendly to people who have a Young Earth or Old Earth creation view?
Cassandra on Jan 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I think the best way to answer that for your family is to review the last chapter. It discusses the fallibilty of science and how theories can be debunked. I handled the chapter as a discusion tool. I think it leans young Earth in that chapter, but not obviously so in any other chapter.
Is this written from a Christian perspective?
A shopper on Jan 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, for example in Chapter 7 the author notes that George Washington Carver gives credit to God for his discoveries and refers to Carver's faith.
On page 81, the Bible is quoted in reference to locusts.
The author obviously brings his Christian faith into the writings, but still focuses on the science. It is an enjoyable, readable biology overview for those just getting into biology.
