God’s Great Covenant New Testament 1 Program components include a Teacher Guide, Student Textbook, Timeline and Map Set, and Audio Files. This program engages students and parents alike as the story of the gospels is narrated in an understandable and enjoyable way. Before you even get to the lessons, there is helpful introductory information including a background about the historical and political situation prior to the New Testament period, a chronological timeline, the main geographical areas during Jesus’s life on earth, and the religious practices at that time.

There are four units that teach about Jesus the Son of Man including Living Among His People (Unit 1); Proclaiming the Good News (Unit 2); Teaching About God’s Kingdom (Unit 3); and Conquering Sin and Death (Unit 4). Each Unit includes 9 lessons with a total of 36 lessons for the year. The program includes a five-day lesson plan suggestion, taking approximately 20 minutes a lesson.

The beginning of each chapter in the Student Worktext has the lesson theme, key facts about the chapter, the memory passage, and Old Testament scripture revealing how it is relevant to the New Testament lesson. Then there is a short story followed by review worksheets that contain various activities like map exercises, matching, filling in the blanks, unscrambling, and more. At the end of each unit there is a devotion, a short story about life in the New Testament world, and a memory verse worksheet. The back of the book includes appendices, chapter quizzes, and maps. The Teacher Guide includes a reduced copy of the student text with notes further elaborating on the historical, geographical, cultural, and theological concepts of the text. Answers to the review worksheets and quizzes are also included. The Audio Files contain the readings of the stories in the student text. New Testament Timeline corresponds to the New Testament Books 1 and 2 and includes a double-sided timeline with all events and images on one side and a blank timeline on the other side. God's Great Covenant Bible curriculum uses stories found in the Bible to reveal the faithfulness of God to elementary students. There are four titles in the series, two on the Old Testament and two on the New Testament. Each course is designed to take one year to complete at the elementary level. Bible excerpts are taken from the NIV version.

Components include the Teacher's Edition, which offers teacher's notes and answers, and the consumable (non-reproducible) Student Book.
