Math-U-See is a proven, multisensory homeschool math program created by Steve Demme that helps students truly understand math concepts instead of just memorizing procedures. Using colorful manipulatives, short video lessons, and a flexible mastery approach, it builds deep conceptual understanding and lasting confidence. Math-U-See curriculum is effective for visual, kinesthetic, gifted, struggling, and reluctant learners alike.
Why Families Love Math-U-See Homeschool Math
- Conceptual Mastery over Rote Learning: Focuses on "why" math works, creating confident problem solvers.
- Multisensory Approach: Integrates the "Build-Write-Say" method with manipulatives.
- Student-Paced: No grade-level pressure! Students master one concept at a time before advancing.
- Proven for all Learners: Effective for gifted students, those with dyscalculia/dyslexia, or kids who are reluctant at math.
The Four-Step Mastery Approach
- Prepare for the lesson
- Present & explore the new concept (hands-on with manipulatives)
- Practice for mastery
- Progress after mastery (the student can teach it back!)
