Christian publisher Generations has two main reading
programs with godly literature that fills children’s minds and hearts with the
Word of God.
God’s Big Story is
catered to elementary students grades 1-5 and focuses on biblical reading and
understanding. Optional Read-Aloud book bundles with missionary stories and
Christian fiction are available at every level. A free pdf schedule and
question/answer supplement is available for grades 2-5. This series is more
hands-on for parents as you enjoy biblical literature, missionary stories, and
Christian fiction with your elementary students.
Great Christian Stories
Literature is intended for middle school students grades 6-8. This
series is more student-independent with parents coming in on the back end to
grade exams and papers. Students are still reading good Christian literature
that encourages their faith and walk with Christ.
The vision of Generations is to pass on the faith to the
next generation through biblical literacy, and that focus is evident in their

Teaching Method
Traditional
Teacher-centered curriculum commonly used in classrooms that may include a text, teacher manual, tests, etc.
Charlotte Mason
A methodology based on the work of a 19th century educator who maintained that children learn best from literature (Living Books), not textbooks.
Classical
A methodology based on the Latin Trivium (three stages of learning), including the grammar stage (memorization and facts), logic stage (critical thinking), and rhetoric stage (developing/defending ideas).
Unit Study
A thematic or topical approach centered around one topic that integrates multiple subject areas.
Montessori (Discovery)
A methodology based on the work of a 20th century educator that emphasizes student and sensory-driven discovery learning and real-life applications.
