First Start French is a French language program
designed for beginners, mirroring the format of the of the Latina Christiana
series. This program is geared towards parents and students with no prior
French experience, providing a gentle yet thorough introduction to fundamental
French grammar, essential vocabulary, basic comprehension, and introductory
speaking skills.
The complete program, First Start French I and
First Start French II, includes a Student Book, a Teacher Edition, and a
Pronunciation CD. The Student Books are organized into 36 lessons, with Book
1 focusing on three regular verb conjugations, basic noun forms, personal
pronouns, and demonstrative pronouns. Building upon this foundation, Book 2
expands vocabulary acquisition and dives into more advanced grammatical
concepts.
The Teacher Edition serves as an invaluable resource,
offering practical teaching tips, a helpful planning grid, and convenient
copies of student pages with corresponding answers for each lesson. Quizzes and
their answer key are located in the appendix. To enhance pronunciation and
cultural immersion, the Pronunciation CD includes recordings of all
