All About Reading

Description

All About Reading is a comprehensive, Orton-Gillingham-based phonics program that teaches all five essential components of reading: Phonological Awareness, Phonics & Decoding, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Designed as a multisensory, mastery-based program, it is gentle, thorough, and highly effective for beginning readers in preschool through early elementary. All About Reading is devoted to the idea that learning to read can be enjoyable and rewarding.

The complete All About Reading program consists of 5 levels: Pre-Reading (PK or K) and Levels 1-4 (grades K-3 or 4). Components for the Pre-Reading level are slightly different from Levels 1-4 and can be purchased as a Complete Program Set. The Materials Sets for Levels 1-4 include all essential course components except the Letter Tiles and Review Box, which are separate, one-time purchases.

Core Program Components:

  • Teacher’s Manual: Lightly scripted, easy-to-follow lessons with clear guidance
  • Student Packet: Activity book, review cards, stickers, and more
  • Hardcover Readers: Engaging, beautifully illustrated stories that only use words students have already learned
  • Review Box & Letter Tiles: Used for daily review and hands-on practice (one-time purchase)

Teacher-student interaction is central to the program. Each lesson follows a consistent pattern: review of previous concepts, new teaching with multisensory activities, reading practice, and a daily read-aloud time. Lesson pacing is flexible and can be done at your child’s pace. Games and hands-on activities make review fun instead of tedious, while built-in reinforcement helps ensure mastery before moving forward.

What Makes All About Reading Special:

  • Strong emphasis on true mastery through review and repetition
  • Beautiful, high-interest readers from the very beginning
  • Clear, step-by-step Teacher’s Manual with helpful tips
  • Multisensory activities using letter tiles, flashcards, and games

All About Reading is an excellent choice for families who want a thorough, well-organized, and engaging reading curriculum that builds strong readers with confidence and minimal frustration.
