ABC See, Hear, Do is a unique, multi-sensory phonics program that combines visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles to make learning to read easy and fun for young children.
Bright colors, silly actions, and engaging animal pictures
capture kids’ attention while helping them retain information. Letters are not
taught in alphabetical order, but in the order that makes reading easiest. The
program teaches letter sounds, not letter names. Children see the letter, hear
the sound, and perform a simple body motion, creating strong memory
connections.
A free placement test is available on our website. Most young learners begin with Level 1.
Phonics Skills Taught by Level:
- Level 1: Uppercase letters
- Level 2: Lowercase letters
- Level 3: Blended beginning sounds
- Level 4: Blended ending sounds
- Level 5: Long vowels
- Level 6: Sight words (includes some American Sign Language)
- Level 7: Irregular sounds
How the Program Works
The Learn to Read books are the heart of the program. Letters are introduced in small groups of four, followed by simple words. For example, the first letter taught is “C.” A full page is devoted to each letter, featuring a large illustration (a cat with claws up for “C”), the hand motion, and clear written instructions. Children curl their hands like claws while saying the /c/ sound. A small reminder icon appears with the letter throughout the book, and students eventually read words without the icons.
Curriculum & Activity Guides currently available for Levels 1 and 2 provide open-and-go lessons. Each of the 26 lessons takes about 20 minutes and includes:
