BJU Press Spanish 1, 4th Edition is
a traditional high school Spanish course with a Christian worldview. You can
expect to learn vocabulary, grammar, conversation, cultural awareness, and
sharing of the Gospel. Students do not need to have any prior Spanish
instruction to begin this course.
In Level 1, you will learn the following skills. Use
this as a checklist to see if your student should enter here or consider Level
2.
Grammar: gender/number, adjectives, the verb ser,
definite/indefinite articles, masculine/feminine nouns/articles, regular -ar
verbs, the present tense, gustar, tener, regular -er and -ir
verbs, ordinal numbers, where are you going, possessives, hacer,
salir, the verb estar, pronouns, present progressive, interrogative,
irregular verbs, pensar, superlative, commands, reflexive verbs, and
more.
Vocabulary: greetings, introductions, nationalities, numbers
0-100, personality traits, phone numbers, age, days of the week, telling time, family,
adjectives, daily activities, celebrations, locations, feelings/emotions, in
town, colors, opinions, sports, seasons, weather, food, comparing, daily
routines, giving instructions, describing people, and more.
