Category Description for BJU Press Spelling Grade 3 (3rd Edition)

BJU Spelling 3 - 3rd Edition implements a biblical worldview for spelling instruction. This new edition has an updated layout and visuals with just a few textual revisions; however, there are no changes to the scope and sequence or chapter layout. Each of the thirty-two lessons incorporates a five-day-a-week schedule. Students learn twenty words a week, broken down into pattern words, review words, and memory words. Pattern words focus on phonics and spelling rules; review words include two words from previous lists; and memory words are sight words. The different activities include word sorting, proofreading, dictionary skills, and word study. Word study activities might have students use spelling words to replace underlined words, complete a sentence with a spelling word, write the last syllable to a word, and much more. Lessons are interactive between the teacher and student. The worktext pages are done with the teacher. Biblical truths and principles are integrated into the lessons. ~ Gina
