BJU Math Grade 3 - 5th Edition maintains a strong biblical worldview instruction while teaching number sense and an understanding of place value, fluency in basic math skills, data interpretation, using measurements to solve problems, time and money skills, analyzing fractions and geometric figures, understanding decimals, and applying the Engineering Design Process to solve STEM problems. Lessons follow a sequential format, with each chapter focusing on a different math concept. Daily review is provided at the end of each worktext page and in the Reviews Book.
Several changes have been made to this new edition. “Learning target” statements have been added to the student worktext so students understand the specific goal they're working toward, rather than just completing tasks without knowing why. Lesson openers are highlighted in the teacher edition for better organization. Four STEM lessons have been incorporated into some chapters. Three biblical worldview themes (service, patterns, and uses) help kids apply a biblical worldview to math. New teaching strategies and financial literacy lessons have been added, and differentiated instruction has been enhanced. Review Student Pages are also now included in the teacher edition.
