Description

Making Connections in Literature Student Edition includes the reading selections from different time periods and cultures. Students read a mix of short stories, folktales, drama, memoirs, and poetry. The course is divided into five different themes: maturity, wisdom, generosity, freedom, and nature. Before reading the text, a “Big Question” correlates with the reading selection and often encourages spiritual growth. Students also learn about the genre, the author’s purpose, and reading comprehension strategies. Students answer comprehension questions during reading, and “think & discuss” questions after the reading. Unit reviews and essay writing are at the end of each unit. Answers to the questions are in the Teacher Edition. Softcover, 611 pages. ~ Gina
