Publisher's Description of 200 Questions About American History Set

As a supplement to Guerber's The Story of the Thirteen Colonies & the Great Republic, we have compiled a list of 200 questions that everyone should know about American history. This little book comes with a teacher key. The questions come directly from our newly edited Guerber book and from Story of the World Volume IV.

With these new books, students will get a good grounding in American history that will be a thorough preparation for a more difficult high school American history course.

Category Description for 200 Questions About American History

This course is amazing! It lays a solid American History foundation in preparation for the high school years and is one of the best memory work programs I’ve seen! Students will need the Memoria Press one-volume reprinting of the Guerber classics The Story of the Thirteen Colonies and the Great Republic (first 24 weeks) and The Story of the World  Volume 4  (last 8 weeks). The course prioritizes reading from the text before using the Student Guide and Flashcards to help them get the facts “down pat.” Both the Student Guide and Teacher Guide include the suggested 34-week schedule, coordinating the reading of both Texts with the memory work. The 200 questions in the Student Guide include drill questions (names, events, places, and causes), timeline (supply the dates), notable quotes (who said it?), and presidents (supply president’s name, dates in office, and a notable event). Also included are several poems typically associated with American History. The first half of the Teacher Guide mirrors the student pages with answers filled in. The second half includes seven Tests with a Test Answer Key. Students should plan for one day a week for reading the text and at least one or two additional days for memory work. This program coordinates perfectly with The Story of the Thirteen Colonies and the Great Republic Course by Memoria Press!
