Description

Discover Chemistry and Marine Biology through a study of scientific methodology. Children will apply the scientific method, create lab reports, and uncover how our worldview impacts the study of science. Topics studied include mass and matter, elements and the periodic table, carbon cycle, mixtures and solutions, living things and classifications, ocean movement, tide pools, Coral and Great Barrier reef, sharks and whales, conservation, and much more. Students also learn the importance of keeping a science notebook. Scripture study is integral to the lessons. The recommended schedule is five days per week, with each lesson taking approximately 30 minutes. Numerous household and art/craft items are required for the course. You will also need a kitchen scale that measures in grams or kilograms and a pH test kit or meter for soil. Recommended (not required) resources for enrichment include The Answers Book for Kids Volume 3 (item 045069), the New Ocean Book (item 026971) and Dragons of the Deep.
