Description

The Instructor Handbooks include an introduction that reviews the SYS philosophy, outlines the five developmental stages, and provides curriculum sequence and placement guidelines. The rest of the book contains the specifics for that particular level. These include a Getting Started section, Lesson-by-Lesson Instructions, a Weekly Activity Guide, and a Frequently Asked Questions section that addresses random issues that may arise.

An Answer Key for each level is included in the back of the Instructor's Handbook. These answer keys are full-color and show the highlighting and underlining (in appropriate colors) that the student is being asked to do (which also simplifies the grading process). Each level has an online page with links to additional materials and resources. The website and an access code are included with each Instructor Handbook.

Publisher's Description of Spelling You See Level C: Wild Tales Instructor's Handbook (old edition)

The Instructor's Handbook contains a brief introduction to the philosophy behind Spelling You See and the five development stages of spelling. The handbook contains a "Getting Started" guide with detailed information about each of the five core activities of the program.

Each lesson's instructions include a "Week at a Glance" chart, details on things to watch for in that lesson, chunking key, and tips and guidance on the lesson's daily activities. The handbook also includes answers to frequently asked questions.

Wild Tales will continue your student's journey through the Skill Development state of spelling. Lessons feature interesting nonfiction passages about different animals. Students will read a passage with the instructor each day. Shared reading helps readers of all abilities become familiar with the passage. Students will also "chunk" the appropriate letter patterns indicated for that day's lesson and will have opportunities for copywork, free writing, and writing from dictation throughout the week.

This edition of Wild Tales features new carefully researched and realistic illustrations. The first seven lessons have changed to informative passages about animals. The Instructor's Handbook includes clear lesson-by-lesson instructions and more detailed information about activities.

For the student who knows all letter sounds, spells many common words correctly, and is becoming comfortable with reading. This level features nonfiction passages about animals. In the revised edition, the first seven lessons are redone – there are no longer any nursery rhymes. New illustrations representing animals and nonfiction passages have taken the place of the nursery rhymes. Instructions are also simplified and clearer with lesson-by-lesson instruction. Resources include the Passages, an Answer Key, a Glossary, and a Bibliography. Please note that this program is no longer sold as a Universal Set. Please see #SYSCRV for the equivalent package item. The Instructor Handbook and Student Pack are also available separately. Revised and previous editions are not cross-compatible.
