The Math-U-See Beta Student Workbook and Tests include the consumable student resources that are necessary for the program. The Student Workbook contains a mix of practice problems and word problems. Space is provided to work out the problems, but some students may prefer having access to scratch paper. The Test Booklet is provided to evaluate concept mastery. Parents are encouraged to reteach previous lessons if the student has not mastered a concept. Both books are consumable and not reproducible. Each student will need their own Workbook and Test Booklet.

The Beta Student Pack contains the Student Workbook with lesson-by-lesson worksheets, systematic review pages, and Application and Enrichment pages as well as Beta Tests. The Beta level covers addition and subtraction of multiple-digit numbers and other topics.

Mastery of place value and using it to add/subtract-specifically multi-digit addition and subtraction. Additional topics include telling and writing time by hours and minutes, adding and subtracting US currency, measuring and estimating length with inches/feet and centimeters/meters, comparison of numbers and lengths, perimeter of polygon, and interpretation of data in plots and graphs.
All lessons follow a similar format – watch the DVD lesson (parent first and then child/parent), work through lesson examples in the instruction manual together, and complete worksheets. Lessons conclude with a test. Cumulative unit tests are scheduled regularly to assure students retain previous teaching. The course concludes with a final test that covers all concepts taught.Details
