This game contains the first two characters in season one and has everything needed for a two-person head-to-head competition between adversaries with different abilities, personalities, and tools to create a unique, action-packed challenge befitting their disparate personalities. Of course, all characters in the Dice Throne series can be mixed and matched for endless variety!
The Barbarian: He fits his name; he believes the way to victory is a mayhem of overpowering blows and reckless rage slashing, as he lives by the sword. He likes to stun his enemies so that they cannot take any action and give them concussions so that they do not remember how to reap the spoils of their efforts. Can he be overcome by anyone?
Moon Elf: She looks deep into the moon for the path to victory, and although she is cool and calm, she wields powerful offensive tools to deal damage to her enemies. She has a powerful longbow, and the lunar eclipse helps her deal an ultimate 12 units of damage. Moon Elf is also adept at being evasive to the damage that comes her way!
After reading these character descriptions, you may be surprised to learn that in my last battle between these two characters, the Moon Elf prevailed. One of the things I like about this character duo is that sometimes, cooler heads prevail! Although the dice determine what tools a character may use, there is room for strategy in deciding when to re-roll and which weapons to try each turn. In addition, planning and using cards to enhance each turn adds to the decision-making challenge. For two players with 30 minutes of gameplay. ~ Marsha
