The Teacher Guide for Level Two is the teacher's companion and foundation; a very necessary component. It provides a thorough explanation and introduction to classical writing (particularly the Judicial Address) and to the way it is developed in the Lost Tools. Then follows Sequences, Schedules, a Year-at-a-Glance Chart, and detailed three-week lesson plans with samples and worksheets. An impressive set of Appendices includes: Tools of Invention, Elements of Arrangement, Tools of Elocution, Arrangement Templates, Sample Addresses, Self-edit Checklists, a Guide to Assessment, Glossary, and Resources. The publisher does not recommend using older 1st edition materials with the 2nd edition as there have been extensive edits.
The newly revised Lost Tools of Writing Level Two, 2nd Edition course features eight new lessons and encourages your students to dig deeper, challenging them to think more clearly. Based on feedback from teachers and students LTW tools have been streamlined and clarified. Building on the introductory Persuasive Essay instruction of Level One, course study is centered on the Judicial Address. The three Canon framework (Invention, Arrangement, Elocution) continues.
