Publisher's Description of Where Roads Diverge Reading 801 LightUnit Sunrise 2nd edition
Each LightUnit contains student exercises. Using the LightUnits, students build vocabulary; examine literary elements such as conflict, theme, and tone; interpret literary techniques such as metaphors, symbols, allusions, irony, and foreshadowing; identify literary genres; practice types of writing; learn critical thinking skills; and respond to truths illustrated in the stories.
The updated 2ED Grade 8 utilizes the same illustrated, colored, reader but the workbooks and teacher guides have received graphical layout changes and a few additional activity pages. These changes help with identifying key points, definitions, and teaching helps. With one Reader and 5 LightUnits, this level is a teacher guided program that encourages independent learning. With the inclusion of the Teacher's Guide, this allows for a more traditional teacher student learning approach. The addition of the Answer Keys allows for self-grading, which adds an extra layer of learning for older students. There are 80 lessons total with review, quizzes, and tests. In Grade 8 Reading, surround your students with reading centering on: The Right Kind of People, Every Good Gift, The Gifts of Love, Hold Fast Your Dreams, and Integrity. ~Rebecca
