Whether you already enjoy Wingspan but want a quicker version that is more portable or you are new to Wingspan and would like a smaller, quicker, less expensive and easier version to learn, this game is perfection! In Wingspan Pocket, there are three possible actions to take, which are gaining food and/or birds, playing a bird, and laying eggs. The bird cards are double-sided with food on one side and a bird on the other. Every turn, you activate all played birds to gain resources, and when one person plays their 6th bird, the game ends with that round. Scoring is only done across bird points, eggs, and tucked cards with game-end goals optional. For 1-5 players with a 25–35-minute game time.

Wingspan Pocket distills the Wingspan experience down to a lighter, shorter, card-driven game that has each player activate a single row of cards on each of their turns. The cards are all double sided: a food side and a bird side. Bird powers are primarily indicated by icons instead of text, and they include a new type of power, ongoing (green) benefits.
Wingspan Pocket is designed to be accessible to novice players yet also compelling for more experienced gamers. This is a standalone game in a small box, not an expansion (the birds in it are not compatible with Wingspan). Wingspan Pocket features birds from around the world.

Welcome to the world of Wingspan! Published in 2019, this game is available in 27 languages, has tens of thousands of board game enthusiasts and continues to be a favorite with our family and friends. Compete to build an aviary with colorful birds earning points based on the bird cards you choose to place on your player board along with their effects and bonuses. The base game featured mostly birds from North America. In the same year, the European expansion was released; adding 81 new bird cards, purple eggs and added goals. The Oceania expansion debuted in 2020, with the most significant additions being 95 new bird cards and the introduction of a wild food type called nectar. In 2022, Wingspan Asia was published as a stand-alone two-person version of the game with several options for play: including adding cards from Wingspan and its expansions to Asia or just using the cards from Asia with the standard version of Wingspan for multiple players. Be sure to look at the natural rubber playmat replacements with two-sides, which work with the original rules and new rules, including nectar with the release of Oceania.
