The Watercolor Workbook Autumn from Brighter Day Press is a delightful introduction to watercolor painting. Created for beginner painters from age 7 years and up, the open-and-go lessons will engage teens and adults as well. The spiral-bound Workbook features ten watercolor tutorials (and video lesson time) which include a Sugar Maple Tree (11 minutes), Maple Leaf (19 minutes), Acorn Branch (14 minutes), Boots (10 minutes), New England Road (16 minutes), Pumpkin Patch (20 minutes), Barn Owl (12 minutes), Autumn Mountains (14 minutes), Amber Moth (25 minutes), and the Autumn Heart (14 minutes). According to the publisher, it takes about 20-25 minutes to complete each painting, although as a complete novice I found I spent a little more time on the sample lesson I completed. Lessons were easy to follow and enjoyable, even with “backing up” the online tutorials to rewatch a step I needed to review. Along with the ten lessons, you will find step-by-step instructions, supply lists, and a lightly sketched outline of each project on cold-pressed watercolor paper. You will need to supply round watercolor paint brushes (sizes 2-10), a watercolor paint set, and white plate or palette. We also offer a Workbook and required supplies package for your convenience.
