Morning Time Volume 1

Morning Time from Brighter Day Press is a guided discovery into God’s Word and the fine arts that provides a beautiful start to your homeschool day. Each volume is divided into three twelve-week terms: Creation, the Fall and Redemption, and Our Future Hope. Throughout each term, Scripture reading and memorization is purposeful, encompassing the entire narrative of the Bible. “Living Books” are thoughtfully selected and essential to the study of the fine arts. Three volumes are available.

Each open-and-go volume provides a 36-week schedule that incorporates:

• Bible reading and devotions
• Prayer and Scripture memory
• Hymns and Catechism (New City Catechism)
• 3 Composers each year
• 3 Artists/Picture Studies each year
• Poetry
• Optional recommended Read-Alouds at 2 levels (ages 4–7 and ages 6–10)

How It Works:

Each day, families read Scripture together, sing the hymn of the week, and practice their Scripture memory verse(s). The catechism question is reviewed one to two times per week. Three days per week are set aside for the study of the arts with a different focus each day: a composer, an artist (or picture study), and a poetry reading. Families may wish to conclude their Morning Time here. Other families may wish to continue with the optional read-aloud.

Program Components:

·         The Morning Time Volume with its weekly schedule, poetry, and the picture or illustration studied

·         ESV Bible or Bible of your choice (Required)

·         New City Catechism for Kids (Required)

Optional for each Volume:

·         New City Catechism app

·         Copywork Notebook in Cursive or Print

·         Quality children’s literature—available from the library in book or audiobook format, or purchase for your personal library

Children are encouraged to write the weekly memory verse and copy a line from the poem or read-aloud. Optional print or cursive Copywork Notebooks are available for each volume. You may also use a notebook or journal for this activity.
