Description

Scripture is a rich source of literature to study, and the SneakerBlossom Bible Literature Study Guide for King David Complete has the whole family discussing and reflecting on this complicated biblical character. The Complete format of the literature study guide is a “use your own paper” or “do it aloud” option of study with the whole family! The 21 lessons cover King David’s story through 1st and 2nd Samuel. Not every chapter will be covered, but the chapters that are covered are studied in depth. Each lesson does have a picture study (image included in black & white), but you may find locating larger and color images more beneficial to your study. Character and place studies are broken into grammar, logic, and rhetoric levels. All questions can be used as discussion questions if desired or students can keep their own notebook throughout the study. There is a Teacher Section that provides student pages with suggested answers to all questions, discussions, and character indexes. 258 pages, softcover. ~Rebecca

Publisher's Description of SneakerBlossom Bible Literature Study Guide for King David

The Biblical King David is well known for the Sunday School vignettes “David and Goliath” and “David and Bathsheba.” Children are taught the simple lessons of faith and obedience, punishment and reward. As children age, their ability to understand the complexities of life grows. They will have more questions and will need answers with depth and thoughtfulness. In this spirit, this Study Guide is presented. King David was more than an example or a paragon. He was a man and a king, a sinner and a saint, a steadfast friend and an adulterer, a murderer and a friend of God.

The SneakerBlossom Bible Literature Study Guides for King David are not intended to be devotionals. They are intended to give the students a sense of the story of David—the flow of his life and the lessons we can learn from it. As always, the discussion questions are approached with a Christian worldview. Each lesson includes a work of art with pertinent discussion questions.

The Student Workbooks are available with black and white art at SneakerBlossom Books’ low, affordable price, or with full-color art (pricier). All e-books versions have full-color art, as does the SneakerBlossom Art Guide for King David. All male nudity has been modestly fig-leafed.
