My Pals are Here (MPaH) Primary Math 6A Pupil’s Book is the core textbook for first semester of grade 6 and contains both short instruction and practice work. Using the concrete-pictorial-abstract approach, the program guides students as they handle physical objects, work with pictures or visual models, and connect the concrete/visual learning to numbers and symbols. Put On Your Thinking Cap and Let’s Reflect Together exercises at the end of each chapter give students extra practice in problem solving. End-of-chapter review is also included. The 4th edition is aligned to the newest Singapore math syllabus (2021).
One distinct feature that sets this program apart from other Singapore math options is the digital component. A QR code inside the front cover directs you to MCEduHub, where you can create an account and activate your one-year subscription to the 6A Pupil eBook. The eBook has engaging videos and animations to go along with the lessons. The Animator Opener video for each chapter provides a recap of previously learned concepts and includes real-life situations to help kids make connections. Short “learn videos” teach new concepts that align with each lesson. Virtual manipulatives allow kids to practice what they are learning in a gamified setting. Students can do their practice exercises interactively in the eBook or with a pencil in the printed book. The auto-marking feature in the eBook saves time with grading.
The MCEduHub app (available for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices) can also be downloaded for added convenience. The app allows you to scan pages and access all the digital resources, including animations, games, virtual manipulatives, and more.
