Description

You will not be able to go for a swim, but in Railroad Tiles: Lakes Expansion by Horrible Guild Games, you will have the power to create lakes and ports and place ferry tokens where the roads meet the water in your tile network. To start, place the 41 Lake Route Tiles in the included cloth bag and set up the game using the chart in the manual that integrates expansion tile offerings with the base game tiles. Add the port tokens and ferry pawns to the general supply and swap out the car, train, and traveler placement tokens with the included Ferry Placement Tokens. The remaining set up is the same as the base game.

What is new and different about gameplay? You can place a railroad or highway that terminates in a lake simply by placing a port token where they meet. This facilitates connectivity to the lake with other ports so that they are all part of one lake network, and in-game points are awarded based on how many other ferries are located on that lake. With end-of-game scoring, town tiles that border lakes in this expansion are used with town tiles from the base game to help create cities, which earn 5 points each. There are three new solo mode challenges as well as three sets of new objective tiles for added end-game goal points. For 1-4 players with a 45-minute game time. ~ Marsha
