Do you ever wonder what Propolis is? At first, I thought it was the name of a city or kingdom. After playing Propolis by Flatout Games, I learned that it is literally the “glue” that helps build and fortify beehives. In this game, play as a bee colony and send out workers to collect six different pollen types to help build your hives and a palace for the queen bee.
Propolis (the game) is a card-driven, worker-placement, engine-building, area-control, and tableau-building game where players earn points as they collect pollen requirements to build cards (hives), which in turn furnish points, goals, and permanent resources toward purchasing additional cards. When any player completes 10 buildings, finish the round and the player with the most points wins.
This game has beautiful artwork and components. A lighter strategy game, it can be completed in about 30+ minutes depending on player count. Some games that are similar are Splendor, Splendor Duel, and Point City. For 1-4 players with solo mode cards and instructions included. ~ Marsha
