With My First Letter Sounds (in print
letters), children learn all of the letter sounds of the English
language, not just the alphabet letters. Learning the letter sounds is
the first step towards reading and writing.
My First Letter Sounds provides an easy introduction to these by:
Learning the sounds that letters make (not their names) – a written pronunciation guide is included in the book
Learning how to write the letters – arrows on each letter enables children to form it correctly
Identifying the sounds in words using the pictures in the book and asking children if they can hear the /ssss/ sound in “sun”?
Tips and guidance for parents are included in the book
Jolly Phonics for ages 3 and up uses memorable
characters, engaging stories, and catchy songs paired with fun actions to
introduce the 42 letter sounds. The colorful books, songs, and physical actions
help children engage in all learning paths. Sounds are taught first (before
letter names) and in a specific order that allows children to start reading as
soon as possible. You can use this program as a precursor to the Jolly Phonics
K4 or K5 program or another phonics program. Children ages 3 and up will
utilize the Bumper Book, Jolly Stories Board Book Activity Books, DVD, Letter
Sound Poster, and Songs Book & CD. There is no teacher’s book at this level.
These multisensory materials provide a fun way to give children a jumpstart to
reading!
